Nedosiran and Breastfeeding

Summary of use during lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of nedosiran sodium during breastfeeding. Because nedosiran is more than 85.6% bound to plasma proteins and has a molecular weight of 22,238 Da, the amount in milk is likely to be low. In addition, because nedosiran is poorly absorbed orally, it is not likely to reach the bloodstream of the infant or cause any adverse effects in breastfed infants. The drug is approved for use in children as young as 2 years old. If the mother requires nedosiran sodium, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding.
